Horchata vs Maida ?

It’s heart wrenching to know that today’s parents have no clue what is

  • good
  • bad
  • harmful
  • potentially fatal or
  • soul food

for their own blood.

It was easier to put our welfare in the dedicated hands of our Parents. Since then its been a serious downfall. Ask them about the Maida influx into the Roti devouring Indian culture. Maybe their own child is eating pasta/pizza everyday but what to do the dead grain wins over and above everything.

Is it that we have any dearth of good grains ? How about the list below to name a few ?

  • Raggi
  • Maize
  • Rice
  • Whole Wheat
  • Jowar

Came across something absolutely stunning and know you would all love to try it.

So ladies and Gentlemen  presenting Horchata

Horchata

Makes 7 servings
Adapted from recipes from Rick Bayless and David Lebovitz

2/3 cup white rice
2 cinnamon sticks
Pinch of freshly ground nutmeg
3 2-inch strips of lime zest (colored rind only) 3/4 inch wide
3 cups of hot water
3/4 – 1 cup sugar
3 cups of cold water

Grind the rice in a blender or spice grinder into fine pieces. Transfer to a medium-sized bowl and add in the cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and lime zest. Stir in 3 cups of hot tap water, cover and let stand at least 6 hours or preferably, overnight.

Remove the cinnamon sticks and pour the mixture into a blender and blend for 3 to 4 minutes, until it no longer feels very gritty. Add 2 cups of water, and then blend for a few seconds more. Set a large sieve over a mixing bowl and line with 3 layers of dampened cheese cloth. Pour in the mixture a little at time, gently stirring to help the liquid pass through. Squeeze the cheese cloth firmly to extract as much of the rice flavor as possible.

Add 1 cup of water and stir in your desired amount of sugar, mix until the sugar is dissolved. Taste, and adjust sweetness, if necessary. If the consistency is too thick, add additional water. Cover and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve. Stir before pouring.  Serve over ice with a sprinkling of ground cinnamon on top.

Here´s the photo. It was taken in El Retiro (the “Central Park” of Madrid).

The big building its overlooking is the El Prado art museum. Hope you guys like it.

Sorry if the packaging looks a bit crumpled, being inside of a suitcase for 3 days will do that to you!

Thankfully the cakes didn´t lose any of their flavor, they were delicious 🙂 Thanks again Taantraa!

My sister really liked the pendant and the red wine cake (she hardly left me any!), so the thanks is from her too.

Take care!

Cosmic Ingredients

The rush that surges through these divine cakes are an amalgamation of certain energies, which are woven together to create pure threads of molten gold, sometimes wrapped in

  • cocoa
  • moong dal
  • coffee choco
  • just nuts
  • wine
  • almond orange

As the Taantraa unfolds thus the cakes rises and peaks. The said energies are a part of this and that with a lop solid dollop of magick potion. To disclose the must haves elements:

Earth

  • Multi garin
  • Wheat grass
  • Jaggery
  • Nuts

Water

  • Eggs
  • Curd

Fire

  • Oil
  • Spices

Air

  • Popping sodas
  • Magick potions

This is the mix that gets the soul on a cosmic trip. Once the magick settles the soul hears the song and dance of woven gold.

Creation

Cakes are  a creation of Dreamers. One who wants to combine a few or a lot of ingredients to arrive at a Destination.

My creations, these cakes have the core of a traveler. Almost to a point of craze. On the day of their birth, one traveled to London via Pune. On the second round of birthing, they romped off to China and Spain via Bangalore …… Undeniably its my core. A big part of me in them hence the fix.

Now it’s easier, i let go of  a part of me or rather unleash myself onto the world and see it through their eyes. In this way i leave a mark in some sense too in this world. Which was proving to be quite difficult otherwise.

My friend reported, it was had by people from Mumbai and Delhi- in essence Taantraa visited. The saga of the never ending journey.

So know !

Only serious hard core traveling vibes Beings pick up my cakes. They consume and share these with equally or more serious travelers and no less. Static energies won’t even have a clue that Taantraa exists. Nor will they know that Taantraa is an entity that can be consumed to share the pulse of the fellow travelers of this Universe or with the beings from outer space.
